Kaya Skin Clinic Acne-free Aqua Therapy Review

On your first visit staff hands you over a registration booklet in which you have submit personal details,acne history,health history,if you were/are on any treatments& medications etc all have to be declared.After filling the booklet,it is handed over to the doctor.After go through the booklet,doctor examines the skin and suggests course of treatments: procedures,diet changes and prescribe medications if required accordingly.They also explain the cost details and skin care routine to be followed.They have 4-5 doctors in the clinic at all times.They listen to your issues and are quiet friendly.After the appointment is fixed,you get a reminder call a day before your appointment and a SMS notification on the day of your appointment.God knows how many times I had to reschedule my appointments but they still work around your schedule.They also provide you proper invoice with billing information upon product purchase or registration of services.Product are put in a paper bag along with the invoice. Overall their execution is systematic.

This service uses a cool jet of most natural elements air and saline water which penetrate deep into the acne prone skin to cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate effectively. The next step involves application of an acne reducer peel immediately after exfoliation with the water jet, which increases the efficacy of the peel as it penetrates better. The water jet also acts as priming agent for the acne reducer peel.

It helps your skin get purified from within so that the root cause of acne is targeted, and then treats it with a high efficacy peel, followed by an anti-acne mask that works effectively to reduce the chances of further occurrence of acne, giving you a clear, oil free, fresh skin.

Cost:Rs 11400 for 4 sessions.

Procedure:

Step 1:Face is cleansed and any traces of make up is removed.Hair is covered with a cap and eyes & ears are covered with cotton.

Step 2:This step is for deep cleansing of the skin.The pressure of the jet water is low and it is sprayed on the entire area of the face for about 10-15 minutes.

Step 3:This step is for exfoliation of the skin.The pressure of the jet water is little more than step 2.

Step 4:Removal of blackheads,if required.Next vaseline is applied to sensitive areas like eyes,nose,mouth and eyes are covered with cotton for protection.

Step 5:Doctor applies chemical peel on face.This package is Salicylic acid peel.The concentration and duration for which peel is left on the skin depends on acne and skin type.I was started on 20% concentration and gradually moved over to 40% concentration of Salicylic acid for 3-15 minutes duration.This step can sting a bit but nothing major.Doctor will be present for the entire duration of the peel and they will be checking up on you.

Step 6:Doctor sprays Neutraliser and peel is removed.Neutraliser basically nullifies the peel.It is followed by cold compress on the face to soothe the skin and minimise any redness or irritation.

Step 7:Eyes are covered with rose water soaked cotton to soothe the eye area.This is followed by applying a face mask for 10-15 minutes.They use Mint & Tea tree oil mask for oily skin, cocoa butter mask for dry skin,Mud pack for normal skin.These are peel-off masks.Skin feels hydrated after this step.

Step 8:Face is cleansed and sunscreen is applied.

After procedure they advise and hand you out a list of precautions to be taken.I have discussed pre/post procedure care in detail in another post which you can check out all here.Some of the most important ones are:

1)Always wear a sunscreen.

2)Do not use harsh cleansers cause it may cause more dryness.

3)Use a non-comeodogenic moisturiser.

4)Do not use acne creams for the next 2-3 days.

If necessary they will give a prescription for acne applications and give you a skin care routine to be followed.

I admit their packages are costly but this service did benefit me my skin.My skin was soft and it felt nice.After 4 sessions of this package I signed up for another package for my hyper pigmentation which I will discuss in the next post.The staff are well trained,maintain good hygiene and friendly.They work around convenience of customers.This package is for acne prone skin and if you active acne,Salicylic acid peel is like a starter peel.Before touching the face,hands are sanitised.I was given a locker to keep my belongings.I was made comfortable and covered in blanket,A.C was turned on and relaxing music,like a spa experience 😉 .She also showed me on my hand how the jet works and made sure the pressure was alright with me.Each step she would tell me before hand.The cool water jet is a interesting technology, kind of opposite of steaming. Steaming does no good on acne prone skin.The jet was like blowing cool breeze and you can feel tiny droplets of water on the skin.Though I must tell you if you have cold or sinus, you might want to wait because you don’t want to end up with a head ache.Don’t worry about peel, doctors are always present during the procedure to help you out.After the procedure,they leave alone to straighten up and a give a comb too 😉 And yes when you sign up for any of their packages ,they will give you a free product depending on your skin type, I got Kaya Daily Use Sunscreen SPF 15 which I have reviewed here.The only drawback of Kaya services are they are expensive but services are very good.
